Predictions

Sometimes we wonder what our planet/life/future will be like in the year...let's say...2020...2100...
We tend to predict almost evrything. Will we be right? Will we be wrong?

Some centuries ago there was a man , a very important one, according to his followers, who loved to make predictions about what would happen...imagine ... the centuries still to come...
Who was this mysterious man that predicted the moon landing and the rising of Adolf Hitler??

Nostradamus, Michael (1503-1566)

Nostradamus, was a Popular French physician, astronomer and astrologer whose predictions of the future have fascinated people for centuries. Michel de Nostradame, more commonly known as Nostradamus, was born on December 14, 1503, in the village of St. Remy, Provence, France.

The first son of Jewish parents, forced by the Inquisition to convert to Catholicism, acquired fame as a doctor by treating victims of the plague, but he turned more to astrology and metaphysics. During the Plague he travelled through the infected areas and applied, with success, medicines that were uncommon in his time; ironically, the plague took the lives of his wife and two children.

As an astrologer, Nostradamus became famous for the yearly publishing of almanacs. These almanacs contained political predictions for each month, later known as the Présages.

As a writer, Nostradamus is famous for books with topics like travel journals, gastronomy, herbal medicines and advice regarding beauty. The publication of Centuries increased his fame. In this book, Nostradamus has been credited wiith prophesying dozens of pivotal episodes in recent history. His followers say he predicted the French Revolution, the World War II, the birth and rise to power of Hitler, the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the atom bomb, the Great Fire of London (1666), the destruction of the space shuttle Challenger. He also predicted other events, such as the death of Lady Diana and the destruction of the World Trade Center towers. In the end he predicted his own death.

Nostradamus, was one of the leading lights of the late French Renaissance. He was a man ahead his time.
